Who can audition?
We welcome youth and adults! There are roles available for a variety of ages and performance experiences.
What roles are available for children ages 8–12?
Roles include: Munchkins, including individual named citizens Poppies, Snowflakes, Monkeys, Ozians
What roles are available for teens ages 13–17?
Roles include: Dorothy, Winkies, Nikko (main monkey), Apple Trees, 3 Crows, Ozians
What roles are available for adults?
Roles include: Dorothy, Glinda, Miss Gultch / Wicked Witch, Hunk / Scarecrow, Hickory / Tinman, Zeke / Lion, Auntie Em / Ozian, Uncle Henry / Ozian, Professor Marvel / Wizard, Yellow Brick Road (character), Ozians
Are all of the roles open?
Yes! All roles are open. Everyone is encouraged to audition for the role or roles they are interested in.
Do I need to prepare anything for the audition?
No! Nothing needs to be prepared ahead of time.
At the audition, we will:
• Teach you a song
• Teach you a dance
• Have you do a cold read from the script
Do I need to have theatre experience?
No. All roles are open, and there is nothing specific you need to prepare for the audition.
Should I fill out an audition form?
Yes! Audition forms will be available to complete at the start of auditions. Theater resumes will be accepted, but completely optional.
Will photos be taken at auditions?
Yes. We will be taking photos during auditions.
What should I expect when I arrive?
Come ready to have fun and show us what you can do! You will learn a song and dance with the audition group and may be asked to read a portion of the script. No advance preparation is necessary.
I’m nervous – should I still audition?
Absolutely! Whether you have been on stage many times or this is your first audition, we encourage you to come out and give it a try. There are roles for a wide range of ages and abilities, and all roles are open.
